My CHRONICLE

My name is Malik

and I am an artist based in Hawaii, known for my dynamic and abstract works that blend paints, ink, and mixed media.

My art is characterized by a chaotic yet child-like dimensionality, inviting viewers into playful, layered worlds that challenge traditional boundaries.

My journey into art began as soon as I could hold a crayon.

I have kept this wild imagination which made me learn from a young age that these outrageous ideas are best expressed through art.

I have traveled across the world and took a deep dive into art history and other courses for creating;

yet my biggest inspirations are the simple odd wonders that hide all around us in plain sight.

This is where I developed a passion for exploring the concepts of exposure and deconstruction. My distinctive style combines unpredictable media and techniques, including staining, texture layering, gesture, and contour drawing, resulting in artworks that are both curious and thought-provoking.

Throughout my career, I have exhibited a unique ability to pair contrasting elements in fascinating ways, creating pieces that are both whimsical and profound.

My works are a testament to my desire to explore the unfamiliar and inspire wonder in those who encounter my art. I am particularly drawn to introducing new characters inspired by unseen creatures, reflecting my boundless imagination and love for the absurd.

Currently, I am focused on curating a comprehensive collection of my past works while experimenting with new, large-scale original pieces.

My future ambitions include building an empire through my art, establishing interactive museums, and hosting classes that encourage stepping beyond conventional creative techniques.

I envision collaborating with creatives worldwide to spread the practice of embracing the unfamiliar.

My inspiration comes from art that dares to step outside of accepted norms, embracing absurdity while maintaining the power to captivate and provoke thought.

I am motivated by the balance between the seemingly chaotic and the deeply engaging, aiming to create works that allow viewers to get lost in their intricacies.

A pivotal moment in my artistic development came when I questioned the limitations of conventional creation. Realizing that ideas often evolved into something entirely different, I sought to capture this process of deconstruction and transformation. My art illuminates this madness, celebrating the boundless perspectives it offers.
